Uganda remains open, welcoming, and safe for tourism as the country continues to manage the current Ebola situation with professionalism, experience, and strong public health systems. Over the years, Uganda has successfully handled and contained several Ebola outbreaks through rapid response measures, advanced screening systems, trained medical teams, and strong cooperation between government authorities, local communities, tourism stakeholders, and international health organizations.
At Inspire African Safaris, the safety and wellbeing of our guests, guides, drivers, partners, and communities remain our highest priority. We would like to reassure all our travelers, partners, and friends around the world that tourism activities across Uganda continue normally and calmly, with no panic in the tourism sector. National parks, lodges, safari routes, airports, hotels, and tourism destinations remain operational and continue receiving visitors from around the world.
Importantly, the areas affected are geographically far from the majority of Uganda’s main safari circuits and tourism destinations such as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest, Lake Mburo, Kidepo Valley National Park, and most other wildlife regions visited by tourists. Safari activities including gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, game drives, boat cruises, cultural tours, birding experiences, and luxury lodge stays continue as scheduled.
Uganda has one of the strongest infectious disease monitoring and outbreak response systems in Africa due to decades of experience managing public health emergencies. The Ministry of Health, together with health partners and tourism stakeholders, immediately activated preventive protocols and awareness campaigns to ensure maximum safety for both citizens and international visitors.
As a responsible tour operator, Inspire African Safaris has also strengthened internal health and safety measures across all our safari operations. These measures include:
• Avoiding unnecessary physical contact such as handshakes and hugging
• Encouraging regular hand sanitizing and hand washing
• Providing sanitizers in safari vehicles and during tours
• Maintaining proper hygiene standards during all safari activities
• Monitoring guest wellbeing throughout trips
• Working closely with lodges and tourism facilities following health guidelines
• Ensuring our safari teams remain informed and trained on preventive measures
• Encouraging respectful social distancing where necessary
• Promoting safe and responsible travel practices among staff and guests
Travelers should understand that Uganda is not under lockdown, borders remain open, international flights continue operating normally, and tourism infrastructure remains fully functional. Visitors are still enjoying unforgettable gorilla trekking adventures, wildlife safaris, luxury holidays, photography expeditions, family vacations, honeymoon safaris, and cultural experiences across East Africa.
The international media can sometimes create unnecessary fear or confusion by presenting isolated cases without proper geographical context. Uganda is a large and diverse country, and isolated health incidents do not reflect the reality across the entire tourism sector. Millions of people continue their daily activities peacefully while authorities remain proactive and vigilant.
At Inspire African Safaris, we believe responsible tourism and accurate information are extremely important. We encourage travelers to rely on official health guidance, trusted tourism operators, and factual updates rather than panic-driven headlines circulating online. Uganda remains one of Africa’s most beautiful, hospitable, and rewarding safari destinations, offering extraordinary wildlife experiences, warm hospitality, breathtaking landscapes, and unforgettable memories.
We continue to welcome visitors from around the world with confidence, professionalism, and commitment to safety. Our dedicated safari teams remain available 24/7 to support guests before, during, and after their travels.
Uganda is open. East Africa is open. The adventure continues safely and responsibly.
